Sigma Chambers represented a manufacturing company before the National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench, in an appeal against a closure direction issued by the Commission for Air Quality Management. By its order dated 29 April 2026 in Appeal No. 52 of 2026, the Tribunal set aside the direction after finding that the company’s reply, received by registered post before the closure decision, ought to have been considered. Senior Advocate Sanjay Upadhyay appeared with a team including Kushank Sindhu, Jagriti Dosi and Dewansh Shukla.
The Tribunal directed the Commission to consider the company’s representation and pass a fresh order within one month of receiving the Tribunal’s order. In the meantime, it permitted the unit to resume functioning and directed restoration of electricity, subject to compliance with other applicable directions of the Commission and the Haryana State Pollution Control Board.
